ManxPACT is inviting people from across the Isle of Man to come together for a peaceful Suicide Prevention Protest at Tynwald, Prospect Hill, Douglas, on Tuesday 20 October from 12pm to 2pm.
The event aims to bring the Island community together, raise awareness of suicide and its devastating impact on individuals, families and friends, and call for greater action to improve suicide prevention and mental-health support on the Isle of Man.
ManxPACT believes that people should be able to access appropriate help before they reach crisis point and that the experiences of people who have used mental-health services should play an important role in shaping those services.
The group is calling for clearer and measurable objectives for improving suicide prevention, greater transparency around progress, appropriate investment in mental-health services, improved crisis support and greater involvement of people with lived experience.
The protest follows the publication of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee Report into Suicide, which was lodged with Tynwald in July 2026 and examined suicide prevention and related services on the Island.
This is a peaceful community event and everyone is welcome. You do not need to have personal experience of suicide or mental ill-health to attend. Whether you have been personally affected, want to support someone who has, work or volunteer within the community, or simply believe suicide prevention deserves greater attention, ManxPACT would be pleased to have you stand alongside them.
