A short informal service to mark the 66th Anniversary of the Winter Hill Air Disaster.
Everyone welcome.
On 27th February 1958 a plane carrying a party of men from the Isle of Man to Manchester on a visit to the Exide battery factory, crashed on the summit of Winter Hill in Lancashire. 35 men died in the accident. A memorial plaque was placed in Cooil y Ree Park, St. John's on the 50th Anniversary and it is there that family and friends gather on the Anniversary to remember those that were lost.
