£5K boost to charity helping people tackle cost-of-living pressures 

Five thousand pounds has been donated to Age Concern Isle of Man to help people tackle cost-of-living problems.

Isle of Man Energy says it represents its commitment to the charity’s work and its commitment to helping people navigate ‘financial pressures’.

The donation will support ongoing work providing and confidential information, advice, support and activities for people aged 50 and over.

Maureen Cowbourne, Chief Executive of Age Concern Isle of Man, said: “We are extremely grateful to Isle of Man Energy for this donation.

“The cost-of-living remains a growing worry for many of the people we support. 

“Many have planned carefully throughout their lives but are now facing challenges beyond their control.

“This funding will help us continue providing information, guidance and support so people can better understand their options and access the help available to them.”

Graeme Millar, Chief Executive of Isle of Man Energy, added: “We are pleased to support Age Concern’s work and hope this donation helps them continue reaching people who may need their services.

“As a local energy provider we believe supporting our community extends beyond the services we provide and includes backing organisations making a real difference to people’s lives."
