Braddan Commissioners housing officer raises £800 for TT charities

Tracy Beattie has assisted spectators and marshals at the memorial hall since 2015

Braddan Commissioners housing officer has raised more than £1,400 for TT and Manx Grand Prix charities over the last two years.

Tracy Beattie has been collecting donations since 2015 at the Memorial Hall during the racing fortnight whilst setting up chairs and assisting spectators and marshals.

Money raised during 2022 is being split between Manx Motorsport Marshals Association and the MGP Benevolent Fund.

£800 which was donated during this year's racing is being given to the Billy Redmayne Memorial Fund and the ACU Benevolent Fund.

The commissioners said: "She’s become known as a friendly face to the visitors who make the Memorial Hall Garden their viewing location of choice and there’s often a queue of people waiting to get in and collect a chair when she arrives to unlock the doors.

"Opening the hall enables the spectators and marshals to use the hall’s facilities, (chairs, toilets, and kitchen) and we think it’s a worthwhile exercise.

"Tracy has indicated a desire to step down from this role in future, and we want to take the opportunity to thank her for all her hard work, and the funds raised over the years."

In the last six years Ms Beattie has collected £4,762 which has been donated to various charities associated with the TT and Manx Grand Prix.
