"Many congratulations to Kaylee and Madison on this fantastic achievement!", says Dhoon
Dhoon School is celebrating after two students were among the winners of a UK-wide competition.
The Primary Engineer Leaders Award aims to inspire learners to consider pursuing STEM subjects and develop creative problem-solving techniques.
Participants were required to design and write a letter about their ‘unique invention’.
Class three from the school submitted their ideas to be judged in two rounds of grading by professional engineers.
Tens of thousands of pupils are reported to have submitted ideas, so competition was tough.
Dhoon’s Kaylee and Madison collected their awards for ‘well-thought-out’ designs that impressed the judges.
Madison went a step further and was also named overall winner on the Isle of Man.
