100 Musicians unite for landmark concert
The Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra will join forces with Yorkshire’s Slaithwaite Philharmonic for the Island’s largest orchestral concert in years.
More than 100 musicians will perform works by Mussorgsky, Britten and Mahler at the Villa Marina Royal Hall this evening. (Saturday, 17 May)
A special afternoon performance of Britten’s 'Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra' will be held for local schoolchildren.
Patron Charles Guard describes the event as a 'rare and memorable musical occasion for the Island'.
