Classified among the most sustainably managed in the British Isles
The Manx Scallop Fishery has been classified among the most sustainably managed in the British Isles.
The upgraded rating follows improvements to the fishery and its management, over the last two years, as part of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's long-term management plan.
According to the Marine Conservation Society the Isle of Man's approach demonstrates some very good practices which are clearly extensively researched, monitored and reported on.
