'Safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led'
Manx Care's Family Placement Unit, which provides placements for children and young people who are unable to live at home, has received a positive endorsement from the Department of Health and Social Care after the latest inspection.
The unit was found to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The DHSC's Registration and Inspection Unit last inspected the service in October 2018 focusing on the Children and Families Service, including the Family Placement Service.
The latest inspection identified clear improvements. The Family Placement Team is currently working on its action plan with a view to completing the process by July 2025.
The areas for improvement are around private fostering arrangements and internal processes to evidence service progress.
