Efforts to try and overcome a high failure rate of trees planted in the People’s Wood appear to be working, with the trees currently on site showing 'good growth'.
More than 70,000 broadleaf trees were planted at the site from February 2021, including Aspen, Willow, Sycamore and Oak, but 50 per cent didn't grow.
