DoI planning to hike car tax by 10 per cent
The infrastructure minister has predicted the proposed increase to vehicle tax will generate approximately £1 million extra.
£14 million is currently collected each year which goes into Tynwald's general revenue fund.
The Department of Infrastructure wants to increase tax by 10 per cent - the plans will go before Tynwald in March.
Just over £6-million is spent on the people, materials and services needed to maintain the Island's roads.
