Covid-19 financial hand-outs revealed
Almost £80m was paid to local businesses by government in terms of salary support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Only five companies have paid back what they were given - Arragon Properties, Island Aggregates, McKenzie Fox, Ramsey Bakery and one un-named firm, totalling just over £300k
Over £10m was handed out as part of the Coronavirus Business Support Scheme with a similar amount given again during the two Circuit Break Lockdowns.
In terms of Premises Support around £2m was given out with a further £2m for Business Adaptation and Overheads
A total of roughly £5m was paid out for the December and Winter disruption schemes plus Hospitality Transition Support.
All in all, according to the Covid-19 Financial Support Schemes Data, a total of around £110m was paid out by government to local businesses.
