22-year-old caught with cocaine
An Onchan man has been fined £1200 after obstructing a drugs search and running away from police.
Kyle Steven Caley, of Ridgeway Road, was detained on Strand Street just before 1am on 4 December but he ran off during the arrest process.
After being located the 22-year-old was taken to Police Headquarters where a search recovered a small bag of cocaine in his coat pocket.
He told officers: "I’m sorry for running away. I was scared."
Fining him and ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £125 High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him: "You’ve lost your good character."
