Education minister has revealed the figures
More than 1500 formal suspensions were given to secondary school students in the 2022/23 school year.
The Education Minister, Julie Edge, has revealed the figures in the House of Keys today.
A further 950 were given "informal suspensions" - which the minister described as a "cooling-off period".
Ms Edge responded to questions from Douglas North member David Ashford and Douglas Central's Ann Corlett:
