Douglas bar temporarily closed following virus scare
Staff working at a busy Douglas nightclub on Boxing Day have all tested negative for coronavirus.
It's after someone who later returned a positive Covid test went to 1886 Bar, Grill & Cocktail Lounge that night.
Today, the popular venue says the business chose to temporarily closed to allow staff to get tests, all of which have comeback negative.
Extra cleaning also took place, with the bar set to reopen this Wednesday.
In a statement, James Thompson said the the venue was alerted prior to the midnight press release on New Year’s Eve, and staff working on Boxing Day night were offered tests immediately.
During the call the company, it’s said, was not advised to take further action, as the risk was ‘very low’.
1886 has thanked government and the Covid 111 team for its help during the recent coronavirus scare.
