Abusive to officers when asked to leave Costa
A Crosby man’s been handed a three-month alcohol ban after police found him so drunk he could barely speak.
Forty-one-year-old David Samuel Anderson, of Eyreton Road, appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to being drunk in public on 10 July – passers-by had rung police after spotting him asleep in Castle Street in Castletown at around 5pm.
When police arrived Anderson had awoken and gone to Costa.
When they spoke to him he was speaking gibberish but became abusive towards officers when he was asked to leave.
The court heard it was Anderson’s second alcohol-related conviction in just two weeks.
He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
