Hailed as the year for electric vehicles
2018 is being hailed as 'the year of electric vehicles' in the Island by environmental campaigners.
Manx Green Party leader Andrew Newton echoed predictions in The Economist that the year ahead will see the overall cost of owning a battery-powered car fall below that of a petrol engine.
With green models gradually increasing their market share, and technology catching up, their popularity is expected to explode in the near future.
Electric transport is not new on the Island - with the likes of the Post Office switching their fleet, and the TT Zero race attracting more and more attention.
