Figures split between 60-74 year-olds and over 75s
Around 2,350 people over the age of 60 claimed income support in 2015/16.
The figures spring from a question by South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey - he pitched it at Treasury Minister Eddie Teare in Tynwald.
During that period, one-thousand-and-eighty-two people aged between 60 and 74 claimed - additionally, just over half were aged 75 and above.
Not all of those registered at that time received support throughout the year.
