Vehicle suffers almost total damage
Investigations are underway after a tram derailed on Snaefell this afternoon.
Around 30 passengers were stranded at the summit of the Mountain before being brought back down to Laxey safely, according to Snaefell Mountain Railway.
They were visiting the café when the tram derailed as it rolled back down the track, suffering near total damage.
Nobody was on board when it crashed at around 2.30pm.
An independent investigator has now visited the site as a probe into the cause begins.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne said: "It's a very disappointing situation with the accident and the inevitable costs that will come about as a result. However, looking for positives, nobody was hurt in the incident which is a great relief to all."
