One World Centre thanks public
The One world Centre has thanked the generosity of the Manx public – who raised more than £5,000 for Syrian refugees.
Last month, the centre organised a street collection in Douglas, Ramsey, Peel, Castletown and Port Erin.
The money will go to aid agencies who are part of the Disasters Emergency Committee – the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, CAFOD, Oxfam and Save the Children.
Rosemary Clarke, Director of the One World Centre, says the response to the appeal was fantastic – and has sparked more discussion about how the Isle of Man can do more to help those fleeing the violence in Syria.
