Police investigation underway
A 57-year-old man was killed in a collision involving two motorcycles this morning, police have confirmed.
The RTC happened around 11.20am on the Ballakillowey Road in Colby.
Inspector Juan Kinley has confirmed that one of the riders, a 57-year-old man from Ireland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was injured during the collision, and the name of the rider who died is not being released until appropriate support is fully in place with the man’s family.
A section of road between the Ballakillowey roundabout and the Ballakilpheric junction remains closed whilst a full investigation is undertaken.
A number of people have already been spoken to as part of the enquiries undertaken so far, however police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area just prior to, or at, the time of this collision.
