Nationwide International to shut doors next year
Up to 70 jobs may be lost as an Island building society shuts up shop.
Nationwide International, based in St George’s Street, says it’ll close its business next year.
In a statement, the firm says it made its decision during a review of its operations, saying it will deliver more efficiency and value to its members.
Nationwide’s executive director of group retail Chris Rhodes cited customer demand, business volumes, and running costs as factors that led to the closure.
The company says it will write to its customers notifying them and explaining how accounts will be affected.
