Campaigners march to proposed development site
Around 80 demonstrators gathered in Ramsey yesterday on the site where a developer hopes to build 205 new houses.
Campaigners marched to the area of the proposed spine road, close to the Poyll Dooey Nature Reserve and Sulby River saltmarsh.
Plans to build on the land were rejected in February, but commissioner and organiser of Sunday's demonstration, Lamara Craine, believes it won't go away.
The company, Blythe Church Investments Ltd, has appealed the decision - it's due consideration in the coming weeks.
A petition against the development has received almost 2,500 signatures.
The company has previously said the Sulby Riverside site would help Ramsey fulfil its housing and economic growth needs without encroaching on the local green belt.
Earlier this year it hit out at so-called 'untruths' being told about the project.
