35-year-old was seen 'weaving' and crossing white lines
A Douglas man who was caught behind the wheel on the Mountain Road after using cannabis has been banned from the road.
David Peter Sleeman, of Queen’s Promenade, was followed by police on 15 December last year.
Officers noticed the 35-year-old’s Audi TT crossing the white lines, weaving and failing to maintain a central position – when they pulled him over, on Johnny Watterson’s Lane, he failed a drug wipe test.
Blood tests showed Sleeman was over the legal limit.
At Douglas Courthouse he admitted to drug driving with his advocate telling the court: "It’s not substantially over the limit but nevertheless it is over the limit.”
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined him £900 and disqualified him from driving for two years and until he’s taken, and passed, an extended driving test.
Sleeman was also ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs.
