Culture Vannin highlighting Good Friday tradition
Ahead of the Easter weekend, Culture Vannin are again highlighting the various traditions associated with the holiday that are quintessentially Manx.
As with many other nations, traditionally Good Friday is marked by eating shellfish - but this general tradition has a particular twist on the Isle of Man.
Breakfast on the Island on this day once had to consist of flitters - or ‘limpets’ - cooked in their own shells in the embers of the fire on the beach.
Culture Vannin's education resources officer, James Franklin, says its something that can bring people together:
Isle of Man inflation eases slightly to 2.8% in October
Progress on autism strategy welcomed
Paper car tax discs cost DOI £7,500 each month
Just over half the vehicles examined were defective
