Visit as reform options weighed
Two academic experts on abortion law are delivering a presentation to Tynwald members today (23 March).
Dr Claire Pierson from Manchester Metropolitan University, and Dr Fiona Bloomer from Ulster University will give a talk to MHKs and MLCs at 2pm in the Legislative Building.
Although much of their experience is specific to Northern Ireland, it's expected they'll provide parallels to the Isle of Man's current position.
They were invited by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson who has recently put forward a Private Members Bill to reform the Island's abortion laws.
Meanwhile, a public event organised by CALM, the group campaigning for reform, with both academics will take place at the South Douglas Old Friend's Association from 7.30pm tonight.
