Study in UK noted increase when England played and lost
Victims of domestic abuse are being reminded there is help available.
It comes as England prepare to take on Spain in the final of the European Football Championship this evening (14 July).
A study by Lancaster University found abuse increased by 38 percent in households in Lancashire when the England team played and lost.
On the Island Victim Support says it hasn't seen a spike in figures during the footballing campaign.
However the charity is encouraging anyone living with abuse to ask for support.
