Fourteenth candidate is put forward
Two more candidates came forward for the forthcoming Legislative Council elections on Monday.
There are currently five LegCo vacancies - four of which are for a five-year term and one for a two-year term ending in February 2020.
Shirley Ellen Corlett - who spent two decades in a senior role in the Financial Services Authority - and 62-year-old actuary Richard Furner are the latest to be put forward.
Mr Furner was nominated by Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer, who says he has the 'right skills, background and commitment' to be a success in the role.
Mrs Corlett has been nominated by Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas, who has praised her 'excellent knowledge of legislation'.
The pair join a growing list of those aiming for election to the upper chamber of the Manx parliament, with 14 people now in the running.
A special sitting of the House of Keys will take place on Monday, 12 March to decide the outcome of the contest.
