Change ensures workers won't be treated unfairly or fired if they have conscientious objections
Proposed new laws on fertilisation, embryology, and surrogacy now include additional protections for workers providing fertility services.
An amendment to the Reproductive Rights Bill ensures employees cannot have their employment terminated or face unfair treatment if they conscientiously object to certain aspects of the legislation.
The Legislative Council supported the change, stating it aligns the bill with similar protections already included in the Assisted Dying Bill for healthcare staff.
