Keep domestic and wild birds apart
The latest outbreak of bird flu in Lancashire is not a game-changer for the Isle of Man.
That's the view of Chief Veterinary Officer Alistair Breed after H5N8 avian flu was discovered in breeding pheasants in Preston.
When the first British case was announced before Christmas advice was issued to poultry keepers on the Island, rather than copying the stringent restrictions introduced in England and Wales.
Mr Breed says the latest development is disappointing and is reminding owners what precautions they can take:

Rolling delays see Manxman sailings cancelled
Assisted dying bill receiving 'due attention it deserves' in UK
Faulty device believed to have triggered multi-agency search effort
Payroll firm reprimanded after thousands of personal records discovered in abandoned shredding bins
