Major incident declared due to number of trees down on-Island
Ronaldsway Airport is to stay closed until tomorrow as Storm Éowyn causes widespread disruption on the Island's roads.
The runway and terminal had been initially closed until 4pm due to the red weather warning in place for violent storm force winds.
However, due to many roads across the Island being unsafe and impassable, it will now be staying closed for the rest of the day
The airport says it will reopen tomorrow (Saturday, 25 January) with normal operations resuming.
Due to the number of trees down and roads blocked around the Island government has declared a major incident.
People are advised to stay home and only travel if absolutely necessary.
If you were due to travel today you are asked to contact your airline directly for the latest updates on your flight.
