Crews to show public life-saving skills to raise money
Ramsey's lifeboat crew will be showing the public their life-saving skills, raising money and encouraging new recruits today (18 July).
The northern station is holding its annual flag day, with a packed programme of family fun starting at 11.30 this morning.
Douglas lifeboat will join the Ramsey vessel for a display in the bay while events ashore will centre around the lifeboat house on South Promenade.
There'll also be kayak fishing, have-a-go at model boat driving and a display by the Venture Centre.
Ramsey's lifeboat dates back to 1829 and RNLI fundraiser Theresa Shammon says the institution remains at the heart of local life:
