Liz Hignett to walk from Douglas to Andreas in memory of Daz
An Andreas woman is to again embark on a 'walk of life' in memory of her late husband.
Liz Hignett walked nearly 15 miles around Liverpool, last month, visiting key locations from Darren's life along the way.
He died of bladder cancer a year ago, on 15 September, at their home here on the Island.
Liz will set off from the Sea Terminal tomorrow morning (Saturday 14 September) to raise funds for the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.
She told Manx Radio everyone is welcome to join her:
Liz was initially hoping to raise £500 but has already quadrupled that figure.
It had tripled after her first walk - you can donate via her JustGiving page.
Bladder cancer affects over 10,000 people in the UK and is more prevalent in men than women.
It is predominantly seen in the over 60s although it can affect younger people too - Darren was 53.
You can find out more about bladder cancer HERE or via NHS UK, Cancer Research UK or Macmillan Cancer Support.
You can also visit the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at Noble's Hospital or call them on 650735.
