To serve as a commissioner until May 2020
Onchan Commissioners have a new member.
Anthony Allen won a decisive victory in yesterday's by-election, polling 664 votes, some way ahead of his rival Steve Babb on 439.
Mr Allen enters local politics six weeks after he was defeated in the general election, when he stood for a Keys seat in Onchan.
A business owner from Birchley Terrace in the village, Mr Allen fills the vacancy left by Rob Callister, who was elected one of two new MHKs for Onchan.
He will serve as a commissioner until May 2020.
Turnout in the election was just over 16.5 per cent.
