Increase of almost 20% since start of coronavirus outbreak
The number of people waiting more than a year for medical treatment has grown by almost a fifth since the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 2,093 people on inpatient and outpatient waiting lists had been waiting in excess of 12 months to see a doctor in March, which has risen by more than 400 since lockdown began.
Almost a third of those waiting for outpatient treatment have been waiting in excess of 12 months, while almost 550 have been waiting more than two years.
