MERA and business support schemes offer funds to those affected by lockdown
Almost 4,000 applications have been made for funds from two government support schemes during the current lockdown.
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan has confirmed 2,542 applications for the Manx Earnings Replacement Allowance and 1,440 bids for the business support scheme have been received so far.
It's estimated that the support schemes will cost between £12m-£14m, with the first MERA payments due to be made later this week.
Mr Cannan says it isn't possible to get funds out sooner:
