The yellow weather warning for ice and wintry showers has been upgraded to amber.
It's in place until midday tomorrow.
Forecasters at Ronaldsway say further wintry showers will fall mainly as hail or snow and frequent and heavy at times over some parts of the island.
Elsewhere, the Mountain Road is closed until 12pm on Monday (5 January).
It was shut at 7am this morning (4 January) between the Creg Ny Baa and Barrule Park.
Police are also advising motorists to exercise extreme care if they have to drive following a heavy hail shower this morning.
Officers warn any treated roads will take time for the rock salt to take effect, and untreated roads will take longer to thaw.
