Forecasters have issued the alert to remain in effect for 12-hours
An amber weather warning is in effect until 3pm today (27 December) with the entire Island expected to see heavy rain and coastal overtopping.
Rain is forecast to become heavy and persistent but clear in the afternoon.
Total rainfall is expected to be between 20-40mm with as much as 70mm on the hills giving a risk of localised flooding.
Ronaldsway Met Office says large waves around high tide at 11.30am are likely to leave debris, in particular exposed places towards the south.
