Police urge public to dispose of such items safely
Police are urging the public to make sure ammunition is disposed of safely and responsibly after workers at the Southern Civic Amenity Site found some in the recycling.
Officers collected the ammunition after being contacted by staff at the facility.
The constabulary says ammunition is not recyclable and can pose a real danger if not disposed of correctly.
Those who have unwanted ammunition can call the police on 631212 to arrange for its safe collection.
