No single definition of 'dormant'
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan has confirmed it's unknown how much money is held in dormant bank accounts on the Isle of Man.
That's because there is currently no single definition of what constitutes an account being dormant.
Banks licensed over here are free to apply their own internal classifications to the term, meaning no data has been collected on the issue.
Mr Cannan told the House of Keys he's unwilling to speculate how much could be in said accounts:
