Manx Children's Art Therapy hosting special fundraising event
A charity will be hosting an evening of art, wine and music next week (Thursday, 5 March) to raise funds for its children's services.
Manx Children's Art Therapy is hosting the event at the Food Cellar in Douglas, which will include a live auction and a raffle.
Established in 2019, the charity works in partnership with the Children’s Centre, providing a clinical art psychotherapy service four days a week.
It's designed to support children and young people living with long-term physical or mental health problems, as well as supporting their families.
Art Therapist Fern Callister works with the children at the centre at Wallberry Farm.
The charity is currently supporting around 18 individuals, and there is a 'huge' waiting list too.
"Art therapy is a form of creative therapy that allows patients to express, process and share thoughts that it might be difficult to articulate." - Courtney McClatchey, Ambassador
Courtney McClatchey is an ambassador, she's been telling Manx Radio all about next week's event:
To help with next week's event, Manx artists have contributed a 'range of different artwork' to be auctioned.
