Fifth young person to be given the role
An ode to Ellan Vannin has secured the title of Manx Youth Bard for one Ballakermeen High School Student.
Hadassa Smith succeeds Iva Petrova as the fifth young person to be given the role.
The 15-year-old was inaugurated at the Henry Bloom Noble Library earlier this month.
She beat off stiff competition from fellow Ballakermeen students by wowing the judges with her poems 'Ellan Vannin', 'Puddles' and 'My Plum is Calling Me'.
Hadassa says she hopes to inspire other people to put pen to paper:
Campaigners against offshore windfarm proposals hit out at 'undemocratic' process
Visitors told to prepare for new ETA rules
Crews respond to shed fire in Greeba
Is 'inter-generational home sharing' the solution to the loneliness epidemic and housing crisis?
'Writing under pressure is a skill I certainly have now', says Manx Bard
