
The second candidate to declare for next month’s Douglas West by-election says he’s prepared to put his head ‘above the parapet’ and challenge government policy across the board.
Taxi driver Martin Moore will contest the one seat vacancy when voters go to the polls in May. Financial analyst Chris Thomas is the other candidate to have declared so far, with nominations due to close on April 23.
Mr Moore says if elected he's willing to work with government but not afraid to speak out on key issues, however unwelcome his message may be for ministers.
Mr Morre says he's concerned at the extent to which the local economy depends on industries which rely on beneficial taxation:
