Scrapping a government subsidy for waste disposal will mean higher rates, according to a commissioner.
This week, the government announced it could phase out its £5.7 million support for waste disposal over the next six years.
But John Kennaugh of German Commissioners says that’s robbing Peter to pay Paul – with a saving for taxpayers but a hike in bills for ratepayers.
And he says the proposals are something local authorities across the Island will be examining closely:

The lobby group was formed in response to plans to increase the minimum wage by 9.9 percent
