Rushen MHK Juan Watterson says whether MHKs publish their payslips online is a matter for individuals – but he wanted to prove he pays into his pension.
Last week, the Treasury said 23 people were making payments – but all 24 MHKs have told Manx Radio they’ve been paying for some time.
This week, Mr Watterson published a redacted payslip online showing the deduction for the Tynwald Members Pension Scheme.
He explained he took the unusual step because he felt so strongly about the issue:
