Warning to irresponsible owners
Police have thanked a charity for its help following a serious case of animal neglect.
It comes as a Douglas man was found guilty of illegally keeping two birds of prey, and mistreating two dogs.
The animals were rescued from 'appalling conditions', reported to be living in a toilet with urine-stained fur and severe malnourishment.
They were cared for by the MSPCA, who say it took around 4 months of washing to remove staining from their coats.
Last week, their owner was fined £4,500 and banned from keeping animals for ten years.
