Agreement reached over lease
There’s a step forward in Ramsey’s fight to save its Crown Post Office, with agreement over the building’s lease.
Commissioners say they’ve now talked to the Department of Home Affairs, which has agreed to allow the board to sub-let the premises to Ramsey Courthouse Ltd.
The company was set up by campaigners led by commissioners chairman Captain Nigel Malpass and will, subject to the legal process, now rent the building.
The local authority will discuss the issue when it meets this evening at the town hall.
