Commissioner says it's been an honour to serve in the role over the last 12 months

Anthony Allen has been re-elected as chair of Onchan District Commissioners.

He'll continue in the role for the 2026-27 municipal year, with Scott Wilson reappointed as vice-chair.

Mr Allen says it's been an honour to serve as chairman over the last year, adding that there have been many achievements for the board over the last 12 months.

He added: "A role that requires experience, knowledge, leadership, and judgement to navigate the right direction of travel, whilst resolving any difficulties along the way. I believe that I have achieved this in a consistent and professional way, earning the respect of the staff and restoring the confidence that had been lost.

"During this period, I have committed myself to the role of Chairman whilst simultaneously working full time. Carrying out all of the duties to represent the Authority, maintaining its good reputation and standing in the community. Following a long period of instability and procrastination, I have presided over a year of many achievements for the Onchan ratepayers.

"There is still much to be done, and the next 12 months will be very challenging with a General Election and other difficult hurdles to overcome. With the help of the Board and the staff of ODC, we will work together to serve the people of Onchan and have another good year improving our community."
