Merger with neighbouring Rushen explored
The vice-chair of Arbory Commissioners says rural local authorities are not 'sleepy backwaters', and can 'club together' to deliver effective, efficient services.
Jane Glover made the comments after it was announced Arbory is exploring a possible merger with neighbouring Rushen.
Ratepayers in both authorities are being asked for their views on either an administrative or full amalgamation of the two boards.
Mrs Glover explained to Local Democracy Reporter Ewan Gawne the move could improve the running of both authorities:
