MHK says legislative programme can speed up
"There's an argument for reducing the time away from Tynwald" in summer recess - the message from East Douglas MHK, Clare Bettison.
The court doesn't sit in August and September.
Department work continues, but the legislative programme is delayed as there's no opportunity to bring it through the chamber.
Miss Bettison concedes that the break provides more time for constituency solutions.
She says the job doesn't stop just because there's no sitting, but there's room for more:
