Louise Martin completed her art foundation on Island
Textile artist, Louise Martin talks to Manx Radio about how she recently won the prestigious 2021 Cordis Prize for Tapestry.
Louise completed an art foundation on the Isle of Man, before going on to study at Middlesex University, where she first encountered weaving, tapestry and knit.
After graduating with first class honours degree, Louise went on to do a Masters in Applied Art at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.
She tells us how these days, her art reflects a deeper desire to take a freer more relaxed approach to the ancient craft.
